Prosperity point: Complements Attract

Ever hear the cliché "opposites attract"? The positive pole of the magnet sticks to the negative pole. The shy child finds an outgoing friend. The quiet spouse has a talkative one.

But did they really attract their opposite, just because it was opposite? I don't think it's our opposite we look for, but our complement. I tend to be introverted and uncomfortable around people I don't know well. I marvel at people who can converse easily in any situation, so I gravitate toward them, not because they're my opposite, but they have a quality I admire.

As we know, opposites don't attract in our thought processes either. The only possible complement to a happy thought is, well, happiness. Sadness would be its opposite, but it wouldn't complete a happy thought. It would destroy it. Hardly an attractive opposite!
