Prosperity Point: It's So Easy
It's nearly the end of my workday, and I'm starting to plan my evening. Not being a morning person, I save my gym workouts for the evenings. It's easy to just throw on my gym clothes, jump in the car, and spend some time working out.
It's easy to do. But then…it would be so easy not to.
I take vitamins in the morning. It's easy to open a couple of bottles and get that extra nutrition. But then…it would be so easy not to.
If I could start a business for $20, it would be easy to get enthusiastic and give it a try. But then…it would be so easy to quit. Nothing risked. Nothing lost.
That's the problem with things that are easy to do. They're just as easy not to do.
I can tell myself that I'm going to read five pages in an abundance-mentality book every night before I go to sleep. But it's easy not to do. Then, rather than forming that success habit, I'm staying right where I am.
I've been thinking about this lately every time I have the choice to either do something that will benefit me…or not do it. It started while I was reading Mike Litman's thought-provoking Conversations with Millionaires. It contains transcripts of Mike's radio interviews with millionaires, and it's been fascinating reading. This "it's so easy" concept is from the interview with Jim Rohn, one of the best in the abundance-attracting business. He points out that we can start to develop habits, patterns, disciplines, results, starting with little things. But then he points out that those little things that are easy to do are also easy not to do.
I'm going to go a step further. Sure, it's easy to take that small step. But it's not just easy not to. It's easier not to. It's easier to stay on the couch. It's easier to stay where we are, literally and figuratively. Which, of course, is why we have to find what drives us. We won't step away from the plate of chocolate chip cookies just for fun. We'll do it because resisting them will help trim the extra inches off our middle. We won't read the books because we're bored. We'll read them because there's something we want to accomplish, and what's in those books will teach us how.
For now, excuse me. I'm off to the gym.
Conversations with Millionaires is wonderful reading. I'm finding it intriguing not just for what these individuals say, but how much of what they say is common to many or all of them.
You'll be reading more about what I'm learning in future newsletters. But wouldn't you like to read this book? Better still, how would you like to receive it free?
You can, but there's a catch. You have to order something else.
But that's free too!
I've been in touch with Mike Litman's office and have made this arrangement for Prosperity Works subscribers. You can receive Mike's powerful CD "Greatness Held Hostage" for only the cost of shipping and handling. You'll also receive Conversations with Millionaires and more bonuses worth hundreds of dollars. I don't know how long Mike will keep this offer open, so please visit Mike's Web site to get your copy.
Of course, our number-one resource is the book Prosperity itself. If you don't have yours, visit the order page to see how you can download it now. Don't forget, two bonus books free!
